I'm Satish BD. Full name Satish Bysany D. 24 years old. I was born in Bangalore, India, where I'm currently resident. I am the University topper in Bachelor of Telecommunication Engineering which I studued at R V College of Engineering.
My current interest is in Wireless Communications, with emphasis on MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) and Space Time Coding. I work with embedded DSP systems. So, it's mostly Signal Processing for Communications.
This page summarizes my academic and professional experience. If you have any comments, suggestions or criticism, mail them to me: mail@bdsatish.in or bdsatish@gmail.com

My final year project for B.E. degree was based on the C6000 digital
signal processors of Texas Instruments. I used it for the computation of
Periodogram Smoothing of noisy signals. You can find the project report
here:
Project Report: C6000_Smoothing
The problem considered was this: During the communication between two mobile phones, there is always an element of noise interference. Basically, we can split the noise into its component frequencies. Periodogram is one such technique based on the Fourier Transform. Once the noise frequencies are estimated, their amplitudes are reduced in a process called "Smoothing".
The implementation taken to solve the problem is split into three steps. First, the FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) is implemented in the assembly language of C6000. The actual algorithm of Periodogram Smoothing is written in C. This C routine calls the FFT assembly program as and when needed. Finally, a graphical user interface is provided to the C programs using MATLAB. In fact, all the plots and diagrams are done by MATLAB while the core of mathematical computations is all done in C. All the three (assembly, C, MATLAB) are integratred together to form a well-knit unit which can be loaded on the DSP processor.
In addition to this, the analog signal input is taken externally from a signal generator to which Gaussian noise is added. The A-to-D conversion is done by the processor. A simple program to configure the McBSP can be written using DSP/BIOS real-time operating system of TI.
I gave a presentation during the technical seminar a part of my graduation.
The presentation was all about the TMS320C6000 processor. I discuss the
processor architecure, concepts of pipelining and some general trends.

I must really admit that the technical documentaion by Texas Instruments was very good in preparation of the report.
I've also put the concepts in a slideshow. Click to download.
